The Saint Bernard club of Transvaal was established in 1976 and  is  affiliated to the Kennel Union of Southern Africa (KUSA). The club adheres to the KUSA Breed standard, which is an exact copy of the International FCI standard, which can be found on the link on this site.

Membership of the Saint Bernard club is optional for Saint Bernard Breeders in South Africa, and requires members to follow a code of ethics and several guidelines designed to benefit both the dogs and owners.

The Saint Bernard club of Tvl is a full member of the World Union of Saint Bernard clubs (WUSB)

The Saint Bernard club of Tvl is qualified to host Championship shows and issue Challenge Certificates. and also hosts Open shows and Breed Education and training seminars.

The club is managed by a committee comprising a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and ordinary committee members. Club financial accounts are audited annually by independent auditors, and all club documents are submitted to the KUSA annually as required in terms of both constitutions.
