As chairman of the club I am reasonably happy with our activities and progress during the past year.

On the 28 January 2012 we held a special General meeting to discuss changing our club name. a proposal was Dogs PC, which was proposed and forwarded to the  KUSA office. We have received no correspondence up until now.

In March 2012 we held a very successful championship show with International Judge Austin Long-Doyle. His wife Ann judged the Wits show on the Sunday.  After the shows  we had a wonderful trip to the Kruger park . I would like to thank Sharlene and Clive Bergh, from Namibia, for their support and for entering their dog Herbi.  A big thank you to Bertie and Henriette du Plessis for sponsoring the hire of the minibus for that trip. And also to Mara Southern for sponsoring some of the prizes.

Montego was our official sponsor, thank you for you ongoing support.

Our raffle was once again a great success. We raffled a gas braai. Thanks to all who supported us by buying tickets.  The winning number was drawn at the Wits show after Best in show and the winner was Mr Clive Bergh.

The club also presented two Breed seminars, on behalf of the Judges Education committee, in May. Both were well attended with  27 people attending  the morning seminar  and 15 in the afternoon.

Henriette du Plessis and myself also attended the WUSB 2012 show, seminar and conference in Mlade Boleslav, Prague, as delegates from South Africa.

We also held our first open show in 8 years, together with another Breed seminar hosted by our club, at which we had 17 attendees. This format proved to be successful, as many people that attended the seminar went on to watch the show, and applied the theory in a practical environment.

I am looking forward to another successful year for our club in the next year, and thank all the members who have contributed in some way, and look forward to your support in the future.
